In Algerian domestic affairs the president of Algeria retuned from a private medical visit to France, creating speculation regarding his health. The president received the Ghanian ambassador to Algeria and discussed increasing cooperation with Ghana. The French Director General of Civil Safety and Management of Crisis, paid a visit to Algeria in order to analyse Algerian-French cooperation. The counter terrorism chief Abdelkader Ait-Ouarabi, was sentenced to five years in prison for destroying documents and disobeying military orders. At the COP21 in Paris, the Algerian Prime Minister called for the establishment of an African Forum on renewable energy. The Algerian parliament approved the 2016 budget, which was met with protest from the opposition parties. The Saudi-Algerian committee signed three partnership agreements between the two countries.
