The Egyptian government announced on 16 June that it found wreckage of EgyptAir Flight 804, which crashed into the Mediterranean Sea last month. Annual inflation hit 12.23 per cent in May, the highest level in seven years, which created particular difficulties for Egypt’s Muslim majority celebrating Ramadan in June.
