Following talks on 24 April between, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida, the UAE and Japan have agreed to broaden economic ties between the two countries. Two major lenders in the UAE, the First Gulf Bank and the National Bank of Abu Dhabi, have merged to become the largest bank in the country under the name First Abu Dhabi Bank. On 26 April, Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc) opened the UAE’s first solar- powered petrol station.
