AL SHABAAB ATTACK ON MOGADISHU HOTEL KILLS 15 PEOPLE, WOUNDS 51 by Alistair Galloway

A hotel in Mogadishu was attacked by al Shabaab militants on 25 January, resulting in 15 deaths and 51 wounded. Al Shabaab militants began the assault by driving an explosives-laden car into the gate of the Dayah Hotel, and then storming the building and exchanging gunfire with the hotel’s security forces.

COORDINATED AL-SHABAB ATTACKS LEAVE MANY DEAD by Alistair Galloway

Al-Shabab has claimed responsibility for an attack on the Somali capital Mogadishu on 26 February. Nine people were killed as attackers targeted the Somali Youth League Hotel on Friday night, exploding a car bomb outside the hotel before storming inside past security guards. The attackers were ultimately shot dead by police.
